anyone ever travel to newcastle over land? I could fly directly from cork, but that would be much, much too easy...

so instead I'm thinking: bus to dublin, foot passenger on a boat to wherever, and then finally wherever to newcastle on a train. or a bus. oot on the tap.

I'm thinking it can't be that awkward. or expensive. or can it? thanks. d

English trains are super expensive. These guys seem a bit cheaper than buying direct:

also worth looking into getting a train and boat ticket in one, I know my 6 pound train fare worked out a euro extra than the boat on it's own.

thanks moose :) having a look at that now. train and boat ticket in one eh? go on....

I know stenaline do them but that would mean going via holyhead. Best to contact p&o and ask I suppose. It was never very well advertised by stena either.
