Play n Protest are also contributing to the madness. Here's how they describe themselves to give you an idea...

I represent a small group of artists, musicians and campaigners from County Down. This summer we will be running a strictly not-for-profit Play ‘n’ Protest area based on our group desire to do something constructive, but fun! Having heard allot about the Punx Picnic we believe it would be the perfect place to do this. Play ‘n’ Protest is pretty self explanatory... we run an acoustic jam area (bringing a range of instruments and overseen by an experienced jammer), display campaign and protest info and petitions and provide free tea and coffee and comfortable chill-out space. We also have a sound system and laptops off our generator for tunes and Djs are currently organising ‘Punkeoke’ (punk karaoke) for a bit of a rabble rousing. Our general theme and vibe is punk-anarchy-madness (we are pretty organised though!). Supporting charities include Amnesty International, The Vegan Society, Falun Gong International, Camp for Climate Action and others.
