Ok, so here's the plan..

We have Elektra booked from 6 until 11pm.
The plan is to run through ways and means to record drums.
That's about it.
We'll try a bunch of different mics, in a bunch of different positions.
We'll try some ways to mic up a kit with 1,2,3,4 or 14 mics.
Should be fun!

By the way, would folks be more interested in hearing drums mic'ed up with the kind of mics most home recording folks would have access to.. 57s/58s/C1000s and shit, or would they be interested in hearing somewhat fancier mics?
Or a bit of both?

Oh, and by the way, this is open to anyone who wants to :

1. Learn a thing or two about recording drums.
2. Hear a couple of different kinds of mics in various applications.
3. Hang out in a studio and talk about recording drums.

The studio will cost e120 to rent, so we'll split the cost between everyone who attends.

Will be there. Did the course at STC back 1990, but looking forward to a refresher. Have done loads of live sound since then, but its been yonks since the last time I recorded drums.
