Open format timeline apparently. Mix codecs, framerates, even PAL/NTSC on a single timeline. Pretty impressive.

unbelievable!

I may have to upgrade my whole suite. Worthwhile investment if this delivers.
I'll wait a couple of months though... They always release things that aint finished yet... Remember FCP5 v1? A mess... Settled down with the next couple of upgrades though...

well not yet. im gonna be shooting on it soon and all i hear is 'ahhh its impossible to log the footage'. im pretty sure its just some tools around college who have final cut pro 3 or something.
i know there was issues with the codecs but i hear theyve sorted it out. just wanted some first hand info...maye the bongo has used it...

Some mechanisims on cameras are minature. Not ideal for using like a deck is for logging. But if you give yerself plenty of handles in your logs which will give your camera plenty of time to get up to speed in its preroll it then should'nt effect your capture.
If you have an option of using a deck, use a deck.

What were these codec issues?
