Dour Festival? (1 Viewer)

Anyone thinking of going to this in July? Line up is fair decent but I've heard mixed things about the festival itself not to mention the festival goers who seem to be for the most part anti-fun...

good craic, but i wouldn't go again - unless you speak flemish or french. folks tended to be fairly unfriendly towards pasty distended irish types...

deadly line up as usual this year. went last year but wouldn't go again. unfriendly crowd , extremely hot with no water on the campsites, the place turns into a dustbowl with rubbish everywhere after a few days...

yeh, not to mention neon neon, u-ziq, modeselektor, subtle, why?, the bug, otto von shirach, miracle fortress, flying lotus,,,, ah jesus... why can't someone lie to me and say organisation will be amazing and the Flemish will be friendly...hmm... (and in lying sign some sort of contract that ensures the festival will live up to the lies...

It's in the French part isn't it? It's cheap enough, the camping facilities aren't great but you could always stay in town.

I had a great time altogether 5 years ago in Dour. Unfriendly my arse, there's a bit of a language barrier but that's all

yep, Rock Herk is free. The line up is ok. its about €8 to camp there. met some nice folks at it last year.
and cos its in a small town there are shops to buy things at normal prices... ie beer...

There are shops at Dour too, you just have to walk about a mile from the campsite.

oh yeah, theres some nice little local bars n stuff too.

and a lidls down the road where you can buy plastic re-sealable bottles of beer
