Double or Single pedal what's your opinion? I'm thinking of ditching the double as I find I'm pretty lazy with it and just use it for tripplets or on the end of a long roll. I find metal double pedal playing a bit boring but have always admired it's use in music you wouldn't expect to hear it being used in.

Double all the way. Find the key to it, is not to overdo it, us it spaingly- sounds more effective. (except if your in say a grind/deathmetal drummer, where the pace is fast and constant)

I'm in the process of learning single heel-toe technique. Its a fucker to learn, but I'm starting to be able to play slow double pedal type rhythms whilst being able to open and close the hats. I used to have a double pedal but never bothered to learn it properly.

Still a long, long way from being able to pull off the heel-toe method live.

Single for me, yer right gstereotypical hi hat tricks are way more fun. Agree with you though Kenn, its always deadly to hear double pedaling where you wouldnt expect it and used right a double kick can be absolutley lethal but most of the time its not. I never understood this "heel toe" shit people go on about for double flicking either, I just hit both taps pretty much half way up the pedal. A good tip for strengthening your double taps is to practice treble taps for a while then when you go back to tryin doubles they're far more do-able

Single. Although id like to get me hands on the duallist.

Dunno about the heel toe business. Double bass is fun though. Doesn't mean you can't do hi-hat tricksiness. Down to taste I suppose. Pedals are a big filthy rip off here. I got me double iron cobras in Japan for about 185 europes.

yeah, you got that right, I bought a single iron cobra off a mate of mine for 150 in very good nick, i might add, but double iron cobras? sweet! i'd love to try it out but the co-ordination may be beyond me.

Tama Iron Cobras are the business anyone know anything about replacing parts to them though? A fairly specialised looking bolt found down at the heel part of the pedal snapped on me during the week there so its held together with ducktape at the minute

Friend of mine had that happen to his iron Cobra. He couldn't get the part and has duct tape on it fr the last three years. Says its fine

Anyone ever tried a Ludwig Speedking?

I wouldn't mind getting hold of one just so I can pretend I'm Bonzo and then realise how far behind him I am in technical ability.
