Moscow Metro would like to announce the official release of debut tracks "Spirit of a City and " Cosmos"
Co-ProducedbyMOSCOW METROandRobKirwin(Depeche Mode, Glasvegas, U2) and mastered by Richard Dowling of WAV Mastering (Suede, Death in Vegas), the tracks were recorded throughout the Winter of 2012/ 2013 in Grouse Lodge/Exchequer Studios.
Lead single “SPIRIT OF A CITY” is complex in structure, melding sincerity and aggression in a dense melancholic core to creating a unique haunting yet uplifting atmosphere which questions how one city can come so close to becoming a murder capital. Its sister track ‘COSMOS’ manifests a more aggressive nature, with pile driving guitars that contrast a dark vocal melody that references a letter written about Carl Sagan’s alleged deathbed conversion.
Both songs have been released as free downloads.
Our name was chosen in the wake of the Moscow City suicide bombings and the destruction of Moscow’s spectacular underground. Our influence is drawn from our social environment and its effect on our lives, our generation and itsuncertainfuture.MOSCOW METROarecurrently planning official launch dates for ‘SPIRIT OF A CITY’ and ‘COSMOS’ in a number of venues nationwide, and we will be working to finish writing our debut album (untitled) with new material to be revealed in the coming months.
