I'm testing a site I did, and put through two credit card transactions on my own two cards. I put in the correct number, the WRONG expiry date and the WRONG security code. On one of them I even put in the wrong name

Both of them authorised no problem. So if you've a tesco or an ulster bank card, all someone has to have to put a payment through on your card online is the number

All websites. I'm sending the information in correctly (just been onto the payment processors to verify it) and the banks are authorising the transactions despite all of being wrong except for the number

Depends on the bank. Doesn't work with an AIB card because their software actually checks the security code and expiry date.

i've tried this and i got rejected. ulster bank credit card. entered right number, wrong start date, wrong end sate, and wrong security code. rejected. something else you're not considering perhaps egg?

Ulster Bank Visa by the way..

Did the transactions actually book to the credit card though or did they just get accepted by the front end? It could just be deferred validation?

I'm so glad I don't have a credit card. all I'd risk having is a 3v card. Actually thats all I could get but still I'm not too fond of them

Remember kids, it's always your right to dispute any charges on your credit card statement - feel free to buy crate loads of pornography online using your Ulster Bank credit card, provide an incorrect expiry date and CVV, and then tell them you didn't buy shit - they'll grudgingly refund your cash...

(of course they might take your credit card, but hell, they're about as secure as a paper hat in a tsunami anyway...)
