What a great run of films, from say 1964 to 1985. I even love the below par ones from that period. I haven't really liked much of his films in the last 25 years (Bird was great. I still haven't watched The Unforgiven in full)

Hmmm, I dunno. There's a part of me really wants to like Clint as Director, but apart from a handful of movies, his films mostly turn out to be shit, imo of course. There are lots of films on this list I love, but like all artists perhaps, he is VERY hit and miss.
You should finish Unforgiven, it's one of his better movies of recent times.

I will watch Unforgiven, I promise.

Most of the other films from his IMHO "golden period" have more of a nostalgia thing for me. You know when your first allowed stay up a bit late? I'd nearly always end up watching, The Carry on films (the colour ones) old british Horror films (Hammer, Amicus ect) and Clint Eastwood films. I still love all those.

Gran Torino was a deadly movie for him to sign off in front of the camera with. Its hilarious (not sure if this is intentional or not).

I watched High Plains Drifter for the first time last over the weekend, amazing film, possibly my favourite Clint film be it as actor or director.
