CARNIVALWEEKENDER
At The Bernard Shaw
Friday 1st February - Sunday 3rd February
With Global, Scribble, Toejam, The Unabombers (Manchester) Dancers, Live Percussion, Brazilian Food, Beers & Cocktails.
Free In all weekend.
Its Carnival Time again, in Rio that is, and yet again we are stuck in Dublin with fully dressed girls. So, with no Sambadrome to go to we thought we'd do it here and lo & behold Carnival Weekend came to be at The Bernard Shaw.
Starting Friday we have the Global posse laying down their authentic spot on latin soul sounds, with Bongo Jason Williams on percussion and Aqualera dancers, who you might have seen in our Arena at The Electric Picnic, taking eyes out around the bar.
Saturday will kick off with some Brazilian grub from the Taste of Brazil chefs, to line the tummy. There will also be a drum workshop, leading on to the excellent A$$quake which is packing them in to the BS every month, this time they bring a more favella sound to suit the occasion. We will also have the Lake of Stars drum circle back in the smoking area, who had the place whipped into a frenzy a few weeks back.
Sunday looks like another potential legend 12 gig with The Unabombers from Electric chair in Manchester in to play a 6 hour touch all bases set. As usual this will be a free gig - always a popular move ;-). The Unabombers will be supported by 12 DJs and Downtown Sounds DJs.
