Broken Mic (1 Viewer)

What does a broken mic sound like? I have a Sony Stereo mic that I use for recording practices on to MD but lately I've been hearing buzzing on and off on the recordings. I thought it might have been the battery so I changed that but no joy.

Theres been a few times when my studio prodects c1 did similar- it was just a case of opening it up and seeing an obviously broken connection.Ive had a few cheap mics that got a whack and just stop working altogether - my advice open it , see if its a loosely, solder it back. Anything more complicated then that i'd buy a new one or get some nerd to fix it.

Also you have tried using a diff mic or using the mic in something else to make sure its a prob with the mic yes?

I'm going to borrow the same mic from a friend and see what happens. I've also opened it but couldn't see any problems.

i had problem like that years ago where there was buzzing, after a few weeks i realized it was from the radio signals of the taxi office down the road, so i just left it in everything.
