sounds like 'A Boy and his Dog'

Don Johnson wanders around a post-apocalyptic world with his telepathic dog and then has to impregnate all these ladies in an underground society. i'm pretty sure the dog has a go to

kinda like 'Hell Comes to Frogtown'

what that the thing on after maximum overdrive?

yeah it was on a bit after Maximum Overdrive and the Fog (which i missed, dang).
i don't get why in maximum overdrive, emilio estevez freaks out when your woman cuts herself on the roast beef cutter and starts smashing it to pieces. i mean, i personally would have put it down to her being a stupid bitch who wasn't paying attention to what she was doing - i definitely wouldn't have gotten a hammer and smashed it to pieces in the middle of a kitchen. it's not like they knew what was happening by then anyway...

has anyone seen a copy on dvd anywhere in town recently?

i love this and havent seen it in ages
cant wait for CMs new shit on C4
hmv were selling a copy for €37.99 about nine months ago and it was there for ages
went down to €15.99 in the sale and I bought it.

Jam DVD is pretty good too but I wouldn't pay more than €15 for it

I have a few Blue Jam's on tape - taped off Radio round 1999

picked up The Day Today DVD this afternoon. it's an excellent release, long long long overdue (hard to believe the original series is ten years old). the series still holds up well, still looks like Sky News... despite the many times I have seen it, the war episode still cracks me up- especially the bit at the end with war footage set to disco hits, highly amusing considering whats in the news at the moment. other classics: Rok TV (nirvana does a santiary towel ad, fur-q with "uzi lover", ian curtis's jolly rotton corpse- a true chris morris tour de force, and one of his greatest moments), IRA bombdogs (leader of Sinn Fein has to inhale helium due to broadcasting restrictions), and the helicopter of death which heads towards a field of children looking at worms, and manages to avoid an old lady up a stick in a nearby field.

two disc set, looks really nice, with a whole disc of extras (most of which is original and of equally high quality to the episodes proper). loads of hidden stuff, including new material by the cast.

on a related topic, am i the only one here who thought "my wrongs" was lame? I loved Jam and (especially) Brass Eye, but i dont think mw worked at all... not worth the purchase, unless you are (like me) a rabid collector.

in fairness boss there's not that much to rabidly collect

unless we're talking about early 90s GLR shit that we've only heard on the internet anyway

remember the website he did...some weird thing about funerals and stuff...dang can't remember exactry...oh and that awful smokehammer site. didn't dig that at all.

.
The easter eggs can be found...

Close your eyes if you don't want to know...

DISC 1

Collatallie Sisters Interviews Gareth Whitehall - Go to the episode selection menu up to episode 5. Go back to 4, and then to 5 again, and a soundbite from Doon will play and a big number 7 shall appear. Press the number 7 and enter to hear the sketch.

Peter O'Hanraha'hanrahan Reports From The World Trade Centre - Go to the very main menu and leave it running for a while. It will play on its own.

DISC 2

Partridge And Morris Discuss Assassinations And Conspiracy Theories - Go to the very main menu and leave it running for a while. It will play on its own. This is the best of the new sketches, it's simply superb.

Partridge and Morris Discuss The World - Watch News Stories all the way through, then leave the menu running afterwards. Wait a while, and it will play. Only a very short bit this, but it's there regardless.

Reunion Sketch - Very fiddly this. I'm not 100% certain whether I'm remembering it correctly, but you need to find the above Easter Egg, then go into any submenu (Mininews, Pilot or Extended Scenes), and return to the main extras menus. Then wait a long time - the menu loop will play through completely, then a different menu loop will follow where all the spheres will eventually run out and disappear off screen. After this, another menu loop will play, heralding the theme music and the reunion sketch (presumably the beginning of an abandoned in-character commentary). I think that's right anyway.

Disc 2 - Mini News - Go to 4 and press up for the State of the Union Address

Disc 2 - Extended Scenes - Go to BACK and press down for the Coogan interview on the Mark Radcliffe show.
