Spent the night at the Mangueria samba school on Saturday night.

I am generally terrible at any type of street photography...... but the combination of Cairpanias, Samba and 1000s of supercute sweaty women packed into big hall...

Anyway spent the night roaming the place.

I even bullied my way up onto the podium to get a shot of the amazon woman salsa dancing with the band. That was very unlike me!

After all that. Between me being twisted and not being quite careful enough (I was using the 1.8 28MM so I figured the lens was plenty fast for the light) hardy a single usable shot.

I really am fucking livid with myself.

aarrgh, I sympathise, went to Iceland last year and decided to take nearly every bloody shot at an annoying angle resulting in about 3 pics I think are.. ok.. from the whole bloody holiday.

v. annoying to miss opportunities like that. All part of the learning

Well...could you not have just looked at the screen then and seen that the photos were off and adjusted accordingly?

I find when really hammered it's best to go with auto mode on the camera.

I know how you feel. Got my first proper magazine assignment last october photographing some bands on tour in the US, but got so shitfaced every night, the photos weren't fit to print. Fux-ache.
