having a flyier that says a fiver is a good way to get the crowd/young people/people who arnt arsed anout the bands down to the gig, and charging a tenner is the way to make money, a bit much for localish bands, hopefully they got well paid

Just to clarify and put an end to this before it gets out of hand; The only reason Blood or Whiskey agreed to play the Voodoo Lounge on Saint Patricks day was because the management of Voodoo had made them an attractive offer where it was going to be free in, this subsequently changed after the band had agreed to play, where it was then decided to charge €5 in to pull back some of the offer which had now halved, which Voodoo then further renaged on on the day of the show where there was no financial offer for the band as well as insisting that everyone that was in the venue during paddys day celebrations stayed in for free.

Blood or Whiskey were in Italy when all this happened and flew back to Dublin two hours bnefore the Voodoo gig, which was the first they knew about the situation, they then had two options blow out the gig and not play and disappoint people that had travelled to see them play or play and try and recoup costs of hired backline and transport.

The band are working and touring musicians and make no apologies for asking for a guaranteed fee everytime they play, which after 13 years of touring is a reasonable request.

Anyone that mentioned the €5 original poster got in for €5 others for free, some who post on here can verify...absolutely no intention was made to mislead anyone as everyone was informed on the way into the gig and had the choice of not going in
