I make a lovely strawberry and pepper compote which is great on ice cream! First pour about 300mls of red wine (any red wine) into a saucepan, add a few tablespoons of sugar and a punt or two of strawberries (hulled and quatered). Let it simmer for about half an hour to 45 minutes and then add a pinch or two (to taste) of freshly ground black pepper. It's absolutely gorgeous.

A bit of peanut butter on an apple is lovely.

But then I'd eat just about anything if it had peanut butter on it.
