i think his view was a bit too black and white for sure...but i think there is a certain truth to his underlying belief.

People are too quick to blame the government for everything...very few people want to take personal responsibility for many aspects of their lives anymore...on the one hand everyone is giving out about the nanny state micro managing everyones life..on the other hand, a majority of people will look to and blame the government as soon as something goes wrong.

most of the audience were 20 something idealists who, as far as I could tell, simply wanted other peoples money handed to them for very little effort.

that doesn't seem very fair to me.
