They would be such a huge band if they never had that split i geuss beneath the remains was the break through album for them.

Beneath the remains for me. One of the great Thrash metal albums. I still have the cassette from 1989.
I saw them in the top hat in Dun laoghaire. I can't say I remember much about it. I think Death supported them and Max had his white BC Rich. That's about it.

i bought it for someone on a trip to London sometime around 89 and was tempted to keep it, but then I heard it... and didn't.

Despite being full-on metal at the perfect time Sepultura, like Machine Head, were just a band that existed outside my circle. It's not that I never got into them, they just didn't bother me. I think the vocals put me off.
Roots made it into my gaff and so did Against. Neither have stayed with me.
