Best Zine - Loserdom
Best Irish Album - Built in Belfast - By Runnin Riot
Best International album- Contre e siempre by Los Fastidios
Best Gigs- Moutpiece at the Vera in Groningen, Easpa Measa in Castlebar, Restarts in Utrecht.
Best visual artist - The woman from estel
Best Venue - Dalymount
Best Film - The Incredibles.
Best all things taken into consideration band of the year - Runnin Riot
Best new (to me) Bands - Los Langeros, Disfunktional
Best Old band discovered this year - Rattus.
Best Festival - GGI
Most striking occurences of the year - Mayday shenanigans, red ink/murder city.
Most predictable occurence of the year - People starting to emigrate from the Irish punk scene
Biggest loss of the year - Castlebar, Derenzy, Cabra Park
Most ridiculous session of the year- Tunisia - what was that all about eh?
Award for above and beyond the call of duty - the many people of floors of Dublin I've crashed on on too many drunken nights, ggi shit crew,
gig promoters and general event organisers nationwide
Overall impression of irish punk 2004 - a positive year, shit loads of stuff going on.
Predictions for 2005 - we are all going to miss the collective efforts of the measa folk more than we realise. Bohs session crew to grow, anti crust backlash in the south and a belfast style spikes and studs scene to emerge.
