Due to the impressive amount of fantastic music played in
the bookshop this year during the festival and monthly shows we have
decided to push out the boat and celebrate..with a gig in the Bookshop(the
last of 07) during the day with The Terribles and later that night upstairs in
Roisin Dubh a musical extravaganza Featuring Yawning Chasm, Northstation,
The Terribles plus retro raffle and
bubblecar cookies (it seems a good idea) and loads of fun
Bell Book and Candle, The Small Crane, Galway
Instore @ 5pm on Saturday December 1st.featuring
The Terribles
After a year of positive feedback, gigs and their debut EP running off
the shelves ..Poltergeist records were approached by U.S company
Penny Distribution (and label 2.0) manager, Nick Fitzsimons, who
offered a welcomed suggestion of licencing there debut EP for an
exclusive release in the U.S and Canada and so, along with those kind
people at Penny,we are please to say a reproduction of the 'Mistake:
Do Over' E.P is now available both as a physical and digital release.
Details of availability and information on the good Penny people can
be found at www.pennydistribution.com.
The Terribles are attracting a lot of attention with their song
Promise receiving lots of national airplay from people such Today Fm's
Alison Curtis. On the first week of its release, the EP received
'Single of The Week' status from Dublin's leading independent music
store, Road Records. From November 2005, The Terribles have been
praised by Alison Curtis, during her popular Sunday night show ('The
Last Splash') and they were included in her 'A-Z of Best New Irish
Music' list. In January 2007, Frequency Ireland polled them as one of
the 'Top Five New EP Releases'. They've played all summer long around
the Dublin circuit (including HWCH) and have played support to some of
the best Irish bands around including (and by no means in order of
preference) Crayonsmith, Windings, Mumblin Deaf Ro, Groom, Vertigo
Smyth, Glenwash, So Cow, The Hollows, Paul O'Reilly...

Review from Road Records, Dublin:
"a rather beautiful collection of very very mellow electronic pop
sounds, something similar to a cross between postal service and lali
puna with its clever use of electronic sounds mingling with live
guitars, tape loops, cello and brass, a very refreshing sound " March
2006
The night section takes place
Upstairs in Roisin Dubh., Dominick st..Starts at 9 !!.
Featuring
Yawning Chasm
Yawning Chasm is Aaron M. Coyne from Mirakil Whip playing distorted
banjo and layering a plucked mandolin in ways that trance and weave old
traditions with new. His tales of everyday life, love and lament gush
and graze on the ears. He will be touring and releasing his debut album
in the new year and will be joined by friend on the night.
