Hi,
I want to start creating a demo on my PC.
Initially I am looking at recording some guitar pieces, looping them, putting some clicky type beats behind them and probably some computer generated piano and string sounds (although I might want to record the piano parts from an upright if I can get it miked up ok). I will also need some bass parts, probably computer generated. I would also like to put some samples of TV, conversation, street noise etc from my minidisc onto the tracks.
What is the most basic (i.e. cheapest) setup I can get away with?
I have played around with fruityloops but I dont think it would be suitable for this. I once had a demo of a CakeWalk program called guitar tracks which was cool, would it be suitable?
Thanks
