The funniest was definitely the look on the face of the foreign girl who we tried to convince to join us. She was probably on the next plane back to wherever going "don't ever go to Ireland - the natives like to crowd into toilet cubicles and take pictures".

but in Photoshop, use the AutoLevels feature in Photoshop (or the Auto Balance in Microsoft Photo Editor), and toy around with the brightness and contrast. that way, you can see the shots, and keep the cool streaky over-exposed look to the shots.
