Actually I think all we talked about at DEAFf was dressing up as LEGO men for holloween and how Bucko had a 'bad trip' and thought mr. Shannon was wearing a beret and quoting poetry at him.

That would turn anyone off mushies forever.

I've got loadsa half finsihed tunes at the moment but I have two main problems
1) I'm allergic to my room
2) I accidentally put my hoover through my left speaker

Me and Bullets recorded that Scientific bong record thats just been released so we were talkin about doin a remix each but obviously thatl probably never happen. And i dont think he even said anything to the scibong lads about it yet anyway.SPandex?

But i'll throw some stuff on a cd if ye want.

Em... okay... here's what the deal as far as I know... there's four of us involved at the moment: John O'Neill, Sarah, Pawel Grabowski and myself. We're still sorting out who is doing what, but that'll be sorted over time. We're all doing work on it though.

This is going to be really expensive to do. So we're probably going to roll it out (like the proper Art Truck) in the Summer of 2005. What we want is a 40 foot low-loader trailer as this will allow the trailer to open out into a stage area and be used for various other activities. Low-loader trailers are more expensive than regular ones though.

There will be efforts over the coming months to try and get a trailer of some description for a couple of events next Summer. It'll probably be some kind of flat trailer, which is cheaper but not as versatile.

There are a heap of expenses to think about_:

>The actual truck

>Accomodation and travel costs for performing artists

>Insurance and fuel costs

>Living expenses for the people actually manning the truck over the Summer

>Equipment such as a drum kit, PA system, amps etc.

...and there's other costs to think about.

So yeah... the plan for the next 18 or 19 months is to do a series of fund-raising events for this. Everything from gigs to exhibitions to sponsored stuff like running a marathon. Just basically anything to raise cash for this. And any help is greatly appreciated.

There's also lots of efforts being made into trying to raise funding from various sources such as private businesses and governmental bodies. We'll also be setting up a company for this in the next few weeks.

There has been heaps of interest in this already and we've got a lot of support from the FMC and from various arts officers around the country.

So yeah... this is a bit of a runner. But it's definitely worth the time and effort.

Sarah's not on the web that much these days, but I'd say she'll be on in the next couple of days and will be able to flesh these things out more. She can be contacted at [email protected]. As I said this is all I know - it's still in it's infancy but hopefully it'll work out.
Billy gave pretty much all the main points there will be a website up and
also a mailing list which has been set up where people can get regular
up-dates on events that we will be putting on.

The reason we are doing this is to raise interest and help the different
scenes from all the counties intermingle,
as so many people were complaining about the lack of interest
and how it's always the same people at gigs due
to costs lack of interest etc,
This is the perfect way to bring different stuff to different
audiences to raise awareness and to give younger people
and kids and opportunity to get just as involved,
As Andrew RAd-Alarm bullets Testarossa mentioned somewhere
on this thread about investing all this effort in setting
up a permanent space,
this kind of defeats the purpose as it will still be the same
heads and the same crowd we would be reaching give
or take a few people.

Anyway the new address to send ideas to is [email protected]
instead of my old hotmail one above cause hotmail is crap
and the porn sites have gotten my address and have me under siege.....

If people will be interested in doing some music related stuff with
children i.e. workshops, (music, t-shirts, flyers, broaches)
etc within the next few months we're looking for lots of music and promotion
related workshops so that younger kids who may be interested
in bands can see how easy it is to do with a bit of work put
in or just a good place for parents who want to force an interest
in music on their kids to off load them for the day....
more on that and in greater details with dates and useful info
later.

And stop having inane conversations on me thread!

:D

Sarah,

Does John still have contact with most of the artists he was exhibiting at the gallery? There was a piece or two in particular that I now want to track down. I know, I know, but the closing of the gallery came so fast...

Also, can you get me some contact info on Madeleline? I'd like to talk to her if that's cool with you.

Guess I could have mailed this to you privately, but hey, it bumps the thread up to the first page again! :)

Thanks Boo,

Thomas

Heya Thomas... those paintings are still knocking about. Indeed, we'll need to organise a few auctions to sell the remaining pieces off.

There will be a Blackfort web-site up by the end of February. And by the Summer people should be able to buy stuff from what remained from the Gallery there.

As for the Art Truck: well it definitely won't be happening this Summer. There will be a series of events going on throughout the year to raise money for this. If anyone wants to help out by putting on some events (basically anything to raise money) then give us a shout at [email protected].

But seriously... if anyone wants to help out, then give us a shout. We could do with a few more hands!!

Right, Billy...look, I need your help here. There was a painting at the gallery the week before The Wake. It wasn't there the day of The Wake. Can you have John call me or can you PM me his number. I had it somewhere, but its gone now. I'm hoping he can put me in touch with the artist. There is a time element here that I can't speak of in this forum so let me know if you can get me in touch with John as soon as you can. Thank you Sir.

Thomas
