A Tarantula Hawk is a large wasp that has a massive stinger. It hunts down and paralyses tarantulas, drags them into a burrow and implants an egg into their abdomen. When the larva hatches it feeds inside the spider abdomen and then emerges when fully grown.

when do these bastards finally fuck off for the winter?

three huge feckers (on separate occasions,defo not the same one each time) just inside my front the door the last few days. I know September is a a big month for them making appearances indoors. should a couple of solid nights of frost see them out? how long do they usually linger on for? particularly bad this year

I was plagued with them for a few weeks,seem to have cleared off now though.

Two separate spider/food incidents recently. Wife poured out her muesli, spider crawled out of bowl. I was cooking and was taking a spoon of salt from the salt pig and found a spider LIVING IN THE SALT. They have evolved far beyond us if they can survive on salt alone..
