Flying Lotus + Shabazz Palaces + Kutmah
Wednesday, April 29 / 7:30pm - 11:00pm / Vicar Street / Buy Tickets
As if a Flying Lotus live AV show wasn't enough, we've only gone and added Shabazz Palaces and Kutmah to the billing.
Flying Lotus’ fifth album ‘You’re Dead!’ was unleashed late last year to a rapturous reception. The psychedelic journey through the infinite afterlife of ‘You’re Dead!’ enhances Flying Lotus’ reputation as a singular and visionary voice in contemporary music. And it is a reputation with ever increasing popular resonance ‘ You’re Dead!’ was a US Billboard Top20 album, Top 25 in the UK, Top 15 in Japan and achieved FlyLo’s biggest chart success to date in US, UK, Japan, Australia and Germany among many others. The landmark Hiro Muraidirected video for Never Catch Me (ft. Kendirick Lamar) was wildly received and sets the tone well.
Check the trailer for the live AV show below for a taste of what's in store.

After releasing several recordings themselves on small time labels, in 2010 they contracted to release an ep with Sub Pop and have collaborated in recordings and on stage with artists such as mc Silk, and THEESatisfaction. They deliver sincere and radical lyrics with sounds and beats that include sounds from around the world. Containing echos of funk, minor-key jazz, London dubstep and mbira sounds they structure their songs outside the 16-bars/chorus/repeat form of much hip hop.Their music won them the first ever Music Genius award from The Stranger in 2010.
