have you thought about this?
there's all sorts of stuff involved in this
1. how does each band pay their way to gigs
2. who pays sound guys
3. do you need a van to rent
4. do you need a PA, who pays for it
5. should a band with a larger following get more money

Then you have to go off and find local bands to play before you to make sure you get a local crowd. then you have to pay them.

my mates in donegal tried this. think they had 3/4 gigs and decided it wasn't worth it.

i know that things you're missing tried it, but they're basically gone now.

the only way to have something like this work is, get in contact with a band from each area. get them to find a venue, then get all the interested bands in dublin and go through dates with them and fill the dates like that, but then it means you have to invite all the country bands up to dublin.
