True theres probably not gonna be millions of dollars but there will be a lot of money involved and im pretty sure AF know the score when it comes to labels, the deal must have been good and suited them for em to sign. It'll be interesting to see what happens to AF records too, will that be dying off or continued on. In fairness none of us are in the band and we dunno what the beef is with any of this, and as Gav said Its between the label and the band.
As for touring, its gotta be better than some of the venues they play in the states. they might play big gigs in Europe cause they dont get over here that much but in the states, The venues they play are fucking tiny a lot of the time. I would consider AF a pretty big current punk band, they at least deserve a run at the title. Even if it fails they will still stick around and be back on an indy at some stage.
And in fairness would you rather see fucking westlife or anti-flag being promoted well?

Iraq contracts
GE's reconstruction activities in Iraq were not disclosed in documents the Defense Department provided to the Center for Public Integrity in response to a Freedom of Information Act request. Media sources, however, indicate that GE has or had post-war business dealings in Iraq. For instance, it was reported in April 2003 that GE Energy Rentals Inc., a division of GE Power Systems, was supplying temporary electrical generators to the U.S. military in Iraq. GE Energy Rentals, based in Atlanta, rents power generators, heating and cooling equipment and light towers. It was launched as a separate division in June 1999. The company refused to divulge the value of the contract.

Afghanistan contracts
The documents the Center received from the Defense Department revealed that GE was awarded a contract worth $5,927,870 from the U.S. Army Engineer District, Philadelphia, for "gas services." News releases available on the Defense Department's Web site, however, go into greater detail. For example, the contract is a firm-fixed-price contract awarded in February 2003 to GE Energy Rentals Inc. to provide prime power services at Bagram and Kandahar airbases. The contract is to be completed by Nov. 30, 2004. Seven bids were solicited for the contract in December 2002, and two bids were received.

Government ties
Before joining GE in 1993, Kenneth V. Meyer, a vice president of GE Aircraft Engines, was a major general in the U.S. Air Force and served as director of Air Force contracting at the Pentagon and chief of staff for Air Force Systems Command.

Sam Nunn, a GE director since 1997, was a Democratic U.S. senator from Georgia from 1973 until his retirement in 1997. He served as the chairman and ranking member on the Senate Armed Services Committee and the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.

well in fairness shouldn't bands do their own fuckin promotion not have a pr dick doing it all for them, it's hardly diy now is it? anyway anti flag are shit so fuckit who cares, i would rather see westlife promoted at least their honest about what they are a pop band, same way i'll listen to bands on majors and bands who don't give a fuck (the likes of motely crue) but when a band claims to be anti injustice and sign to a label owned by GE then fuck em ya know.

Ha Ha, pretty funny. I dunno Anti-Flag; could anyone really take them seriously anyway. I don't think they sold out by going on to RCA. their message was weak to begin with as is there music.
I think the A+R dudes are on to something with signing ANTI-FLAG they have cute names like Justin sane are a popular atraction at warped tour.
Left wing politics are incredibly marketable at the moment, it's all about lifestyle marketing these days just look at how sprite sells there products.
