Another Telecaster Thread ..Videos of telecasters! (3 Viewers)

Have told this story before, but never hurts to repeat.
Heading to tour the US in 2005, without a permit, I was nervous I'd get caught at immigration for having two guitars, so decided to bring one, and splurge on a spare when there. Got myself my first ever Tele in a Guitar Centre in Chicago, loved it.
Came home, picked up the guitar case from the conveyor belt, and noticed a sticker saying "This package has been opened and investigated by the Transport Security Authority".
They'd opened it, removed a distortion pedal from it's compartment, and then left it loose in the case when they packed it up again. Over the Atlantic, the pedal bounced around and damaged the guitar a bit. Nothing structural, just paint, but I was pissed off. Wrote a letter of complaint to the TSA.

About a year later, I got a letter saying "Your claim against the United States of America has been successful", along with a cheque for the full value of the guitar! Free guitar! Love it even more now.

Was terrified I was some kind of a watch list for travelling to the US from then on. Musk might still come for me....

As an aside, I find the Tele a waaaay better guitar for DI'ing into a DAW than my Strat, just pumps in a much brighter, clearer signal.

My 2012 Am standard has the belly contour at the back. (similar to pic below)
Some of the tele purists cork sniffers on line have a problem with any deviation from the traditional design. I'm no aficionado, but I'm fine with it. And you will grow into it.

I have a Japanese Fender double bound thing that is a pure square block. I'm always sweating playing it, the strings are always rusting. I dunno if I even like it, but it cost a packet and I put expensive pick ups in it so it's here to stay.

My brother has a Mexican Fender with the contour like above. It's so much lighter and nicer to play.

To commemorate St. Patty's day & the people of Eye- er- land,
Fender are proud to announce, The Lepre-caster.
Made from reclaimed shillelaghs & with pick ups hand wound by leprechauns.

I just read that he died by hanging in a police cell. And some still say it was the cops that killed him. Posting here to come back to to later
