MUMBLIN’ DEAF RO
In February 2003 MDR released his debut album 'Senor, My Friend . . .'on fledgling Dublin indie label Villain Records. Following rigorous scientific testing the irish Times declared it to be 'a rare thing: a genuine cult classic' and Mongrel called it 'one of the lost classics of irish indie pop'. The album includes fingerpicking acoustic songs about lovelorn mental patients, failed boxers, and frustrated authors.

Earlier this year LP, The Herring and the Brine was released. Written over a three-and-a-half-year period. The album is a subtle and tender portrayal of various characters’ lives through the themes of self-doubt, failure, resilience and the search for meaning. The album’s narratives deal with the exhaustion of a novice priest; the regret of a failed Latin American President; the slow drift to despair of a drowning man; and the reflected shock on an isolated rural community following a brutal murder by two sisters. Other than that, it’s fairly cheerful. “His new album is, again, a witty and affecting collection of short stories, hacking unlikely trails from a drowning man to a failed Latin American dictator to lingering images of a community shattered by murder. No idiosyncrasy comes without a melodic hook, though; every quirk finds its chorus. It's just the way he tells 'em.-peter crawley Irish Times

CORRUGATED TUNNEL
Edwin James was first introduced to proper house music when he entered FishGoDeep's legendary night 'SWEAT' at Sir Henry's night club in his home town Cork, Ireland. Music and computers went hand in hand and the purchase of a laptop and Ableton Live brought his productions out of the bedroom and into Irish clubland. Working his way up through the various clubs and events, he secured support slots with Abe Duque, The Hacker, James Holden, Legowelt and along with Chymera @ the Electric Picnic Festival 2006..

His first proper independent release "High Rise" on his own SeedyR stamp earned him generous 4/5 in DJ Magazine and put his name firmly on the up and coming Irish producers list.
2006 saw him released his acclaimed debut album 'We are Electronix' on [Invisible Agent Records/seedyR], which was described as "Coming at you like Kraftwerk jamming with Eno and Daft Punk " by i-DJ magazine.
He is currently working on a number of projects with Mark O'Sullivan (DK7) and producing tracks for Chelonis R. Jones (Get Physical Records) along with his second album. He also has releases signed and coming out on UrbanTorque, HartHouse, Orlando Voorn's label Night Vision. Plus his debut 12" on Invisible Agent this summer will see him remixed by Dave Terrida (TRESOR Berlin) artist.

SPOOK OF THE THIRTHEENTH LOCK
The Spook is Allen from Holy Ghost Fathers/ Ballroom of Romance. Named after a poem about a haunted canal lock, the Spook plucks banjos and twangs guitars. He yelps, drones and hums songs about dead revolutionaries, partisans and haunted cobblestone streets.

THE BASTARD RAIN
The Bastard Rain combines elements of lofi electronica, odd folk, and garage rock to produce meandering musical tales of lost souls wandering prairies, old women screaming at the sea, and drunken fights in small country towns.

Wait a minute, this gig is in favour of amnesty??

Yours concerned,

Ro De Mumboid

its a cunning plot; we'll get all the amnesty heads in dublin in one spot and then set a pack of rabid cardinals on them!
that'll show those damned prisoner of conscience helping folk!

(this is a joke btw).....

Some changes to this, unfortuantely MDR cant make it, so his spot is being filled by laptop wunderkind ascinoid!!

Asciinoid
In the mid 80's, Liam Dunne began programming bloops and squiggles on his Commodore 64, while dancing around the room to Herb Alpert on badly scratched vinyl. Piano lessons and guitars took up much of his teenage years, until he could afford to buy a PC and began collecting assorted synths, FX boxes and drum machines. The arrival of a laptop inspired him to take his music out of the bedroom and into pubs and clubs around Dublin. After producing and playing for a few years under his Lmd64 guise, his brand of sample-based lounge funk and house began to branch off into a more dancefloor orientated sound.
In mid 2006, he decided to focus on this aspect of his sound, bringing into being his alter-ego Asciinoid. He released his debut album 'Spectrum' on the SeedyR label in October 2006, which has received radio play around the world, from Belguim to Tijuana. In his live performances to date, he has played alongside James Holden, Gabriel & Dresden, CJ Bolland and Dan Curtin.

I didn't think it was possible but MDRs music is actually as good if not better than his puns! I'm going.
