Mark is amazing doing whatever! I think the band thing will be cool again, but he hated the amazing San Francisco album. I think that was more label sheen than bandmates, though I thought there was a big falling out in the group...I wonder if it will be a whole new line up...

Did you catch him at Spirit at the end of last year? So great!

Deadly news. I remember seeing him in Whelans. He climbed on stage and picked up his guitar. Looking kinda nervous, he started strumming, unaware that his set list was stuck inbetween the strings. He got a shock when he realised this and nearly dropped his guitar. Funny moment. :)

Funny at the time, anyways

is that an over-my-head play on mark eitzel's/mark kozeleck's (red house painters) names?

mark must have been a popular name for messed up san franciscan parents of polish extraction.

i'm not a major fan of amc, but 'help me' - what a song.

He did look a little fucked up that night alright (if it was the relatively recent one in Whelans where he had a band and did a lovely chaotic verson of Proclaim Your Joy). He did a much tighter set at that last Spirit gig. It was nice to be reminded of just how much of a genius lyricist he actually is.

nope but caght him in galway at the taibhdhearc in may. great guy. one of the most amazing performers i've even seen. I remember a show in whelans where the tables were perpendicular from the stage so he walked out along the catwalk with his guitar feedin back, kept singing, accidentally knocked over somepeoples drinks, reached into his pocket, threw some money on the table and didn't miss abeat! legend!! also i was lucky enough to catch AMC in the tivoli in 94. shocking stuff! he's played with various combinations of the band thru out his solo thang but it's cool to hear they're back together! :)

actually don't, that web-site contains nothing informative and is advertising issue #11 when #16 is out at the moment.

comes with a smile comes out about 4 times a year and is pretty pricey. looks real nice though and has a free cd. sadly it tends to focus to much on americana stuff.
