ARTIST: AMBULANCE
TITLE: THE CURSE OF VALE DO LOBO
FORMAT: CD ONLY
LABEL
LANET MU
RELEASE DATE: JULY 21
DISTRIBUTOR: S.R.D.
Irish electronic outfit Ambulance release their debut album on reknowned Aphex Twin / Bjork collaborator Mike Paradinas' Planet Mu label on july 21.
Ambulance, or dunk and Trev as they are known to their friends, began working together in 1997. They soon discovered a mutual love of mathematically based melody and prolonged looping rhythms and came to the attention of Decal's Alan Oboyle, who gave them regular live slots at the legendary Phunk city club.
They released their first 12" on u:mack records in 2000. The single soon turned into one of the labels best selling releases. 2001 saw Ambulance's first release on Planet Mu Records: a 7" including a reconstruction of BellX1's "Snakes".
With tunes playlisted by the likes of Plaid, John Peel and Ian O'Brien, Ambulances beautifully complicated music goes from strength to strength. Ranging from deep, full bodied bass sounds to almost inaudable high end blips, no aural stone is left unturned.
Ambulance launch their album with a live performance in Dublin's Whelan's. Support on the night comes from Front End Synthetics' Respectac.
