Aggro at gigs recently (2 Viewers)

clearly a resurgence in shitty 1996 era Leeds 6 emo is the way forward.I'm gonna start a band that sings about trees. Who's with me?

seriously though, it';s only a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt or we lose a venue.

If you stick "Leeds 6 emo" into google you get this:

On topic: has it ever really gotten *that* out of hand though? Apart from the time someone was stabbed at the Basta gig I haven't heard anything major happening barring what happens at any venue or event country wide (few digs throws etc etc)

not surprised you've no aggro in Limerick.Sure ye've no fucking bands.

besides In Reign.

oh..waaaaaait a minute..I get it now...

Well really the metal scene keeps to itself here in Limerick and they refuse to share the bill with other forms of music. That whole area is a bed of latent homosexuality just waiting to burst and I for one can't wait for that moment to happen.

Nope, I'm with ya there all the way. I like agro in the crowd when I'm playing myself as well. Deadly.

I was being sarcastic, hence the reverse caps lock. Seriously though I think there's a huge difference between people dancing roughly/being overenthusiastic and people blatantly throwing digs and starting on people for no reason.

Personally I think it'd be more constructive to work out a way of dealing with the latter rather than trying to stop it happening in the first place as I'm not sure if any of it is avoidable when your playing loud, fast, aggressive music.

Exactly. I cannot understand how someone can want to play this kind of music and then wonder why and how things get a little rough in the crowd. But yeah, its a bit shit that randon acts of violence occur. It seems to be mainly people not directly involved in the "scene" and all that. There was hastle at a recent moshspace gig (Blacklisted) as well. Not sure what exactly the buzz was there.

How about everyone stops playing music, drinking and even going out too? Would stop any potential aggression happening.

people are playing music? i thought it was a load of noise.

Haha, I hardly think the incident at the Cork gig the other night qualifies as "aggro"...

Sure there's never hassle here anyways. Everybody loves eachother.

I was just gonna say the non-scenester thing.Moshspace I have no sympathy for, in so far as they encourage that kinda "in the pit"/moshing thing (well, some of them anyway). But the point is people have been playing fast, violent aggressive music in this town for years. This reaction has only started in the last year or so..so Dan, sorry, that whole first part of your point I have to disagree with.
