Keiji Haino.
Spring 2001.
I promise.
For more than one gig, in more than one city, I might add.
At least three:
- Keiji Haino, solo guitar/vocal
- Keiji Haino, guitar/vocal; Paul Smyth, piano; Barry Guy, bass
- Keiji Haino, solo percussion

Like, I mean, who cares?
You're so full of it Johnny, you'd better Withdrawe, this sable ere devot'd.

I mean it, man.

Seriously though, folks.

DOES anyone care?
WILL anyone go?
Some feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. (Not you, Keeror)
Does anybody on this board know who Keiji Haino IS?
Yes?
No?
Would anyone LIKE to know?

RSVP

Yes. I'm there without hesitation.
Though I might skip the solo percussion bit.

Where is it going to be on ????

Keiji Haino is a guitar player from Tokyo.
He tends to make a lot of noise with his guitar.
It's generally a kind of semi-improvised rock that he does. It can be incredibly emotional and physical. He has a power trio (currently a power duo) called Fushitsusha. Many people report overwhelming physical sensations (eg dizziness, nausea) on hearing Fushitsusha live for the first time. But don't worry, it passes quick and then it's just pure exhilaration.

He also sings with a voice which ranges from counter tenor highs to guttural grindcore grunts. He plays drums sometimes too, as well as hurdy gurdy, harmonica and any ethnic instrument he can get his hands on.

He has featured on over 100 CDs to date, most released in the last ten years (there have been 4 out in the last 2 months).

Haino has played with many of the world's leading free and avant musicians, including Derek Bailey, Loren Mazzacane Connors, Peter Brotzmann, Tony Conrad, Barre Philips, Rashied Ali, John Zorn, Merzbow, Kan Mikami, Shoji Hano, Coa.

He never takes off his shades. Ever.
