9V power adaptors breaking? (1 Viewer)

Hey, I recently got a Boss TU-3 and a daisy chain to power some pedals (Holy Grail and Boss DS-1). I was under the impression that a 9V power adaptor would power all 3 pedals no worry, but it seems like this set up has broken 2 of my 9V adaptors (one of which is an electro-harmonix one, and one is a Korg one for microkorgs).
When it happened to one I thought it was just a faulty adaptor, but with two I imagine something must be up.
any ideas?

Which Holy Grail is it? You need to check the current draw on each pedal and see if it adds up to more/less than the available current from your power supply, you also need to check the polarity for each of the pedals. The two boss ones will be centre negative for sure and will be fine off the vast majority of power supplies. If the holy grail is a nano or X0 I'm pretty sure it'll be centre negative too. Earlier Grails can be centre/tip positive which cold be where you're having problems...

But I'd imagine that there's not enough current for all three pedals from the power supplies you've tried which has lad to their transformers burning out. That's just an educated guess though.

yep -same has happened to me in the past..

ah right, thanks. I imagine those adaptors are beyond repair now?

Unfortunately that's probably the case but worth trying them out again just in case they happen to have a thermal fuse in there although I doubt they will.
