in national geographic recently it said well over 2,000 people were murdered in medellin last year down from over 3,000 the year before (sorry i can't remember the exact figures but they are huge) so as terrible as david's death is it is just the tip of the iceberg. i heard about this a few days ago but this is the reality of colombia.
