    Jaysus cycling!

That's pretty much what the one I had a rather brief ride on in Paris felt like. Low pressure tyres meaning lots of work to actually get anywhere. I was hoping the stations might extend out into the suburbs like in Paris so that the bikes could be used to get home on. They would be handy for...

Is there anywhere that cuts car keys? the cheaper, the better

The place on Nth Frederick Street near the junction with Dorset St cut some copies of fairly old car keys for me a couple of years ago. Also Brown Bros. in Dun Laoghaire is supposedly one of the best key cutting places in Dublin in terms of the range they carry. Maybe give them a call…

    Jaysus cycling!

I’ve been using Armadillos for years and have had very few punctures with them. They’re well worth €30 considering the amount of time saved no longer repairing punctures. You can get them in Cycleways, Parnell St, and the bike shop in Dun Laoghaire. I think Cycleways also does Slime, as does...

    Car problem question.

I had a similar-ish problem a while ago where the car had reduced power and cut out every time I stopped. It turned out that one of the hoses leading to the carburettor had a nic in it and was letting air in (or out?), which reduced the power. It wasn't a big job for the mechanic to fix it...

    Was'nt my day yesterday

Get some Specialized Armadillo tyres (or similar “bulletproof” tyres). They generally help prevent this sort of catastrophe. Being a cheapskate myself I tend to wait till the tube has about 5 or 6 patches on it before getting a new one. It’s usually a sign that I should splash out on a new tube...
