Anyone know much about TV's? (1 Viewer)

Need to buy a small tv for someone,probably mostly get used for netflix(with a chromecast) or dvd's(less so)

Any point in a smart tv? It'll probably confuse me but sure it'll be considered.

smart tv's are a waste of time. most seem very clunky and awkward to use. much better off getting a good quality screen and something like a chromecast or apple tv.

Have a look at argos and maybe also in pc world there was great bargin I saw at pc world in blanchardstown a while back

Keep an eye on Aldi / Lidl - i got a 24" 1080p with built in DVD & saorview for €180 or something

one is irish and one is british and they're different standards

irish saorview is rtes, tv3, tnag & the like

british freeview is the bbcs and stuff

Freeview might be better. is it easy to set up?

You're going to be limited by the tuner in the set. UK use DVB-T & we use MPEG4 (someone correct me here if I'm wrong)
