Need to buy a small tv for someone, probably mostly get used for netflix(with a chromecast) or dvd's(less so)

Any point in a smart tv? It'll probably confuse me but sure it'll be considered.

Thanks

Probably need to walk into a shop and buy it too,so no online deals please.

smart tv's are a waste of time. most seem very clunky and awkward to use. much better off getting a good quality screen and something like a chromecast or apple tv.

Seconded. It'll be grand for a few months and then it'll be a mire of firmware updates.

You're going to be limited by the tuner in the set. UK use DVB-T & we use MPEG4 (someone correct me here if I'm wrong)

I'm probably better off talking to someone in a shop at this stage. I keep getting more lost.
