Re: New Electric Picnic acts

Terrible line-up as it was and the new additions (many of which have been known about for ages) do absolutely nothing to justify forking out 250 quid. The whole EP line-up is an affront to anyone expecting some class. To a more casual music fan whose world doesn't orbit around the views and recommendations of a handful of music bloggers and so-called tastemakers promoting gigs to try and outdo each other in the hip stakes that line-up is an insult. It's top heavy with loads of new acts few of us could care less about and a clatter of Irish acts picked up on the cheap. The Irish-heavy Bodytonic line-up is no great shakes either. Very disappointing and a really poor show by POD and Aiken in general. Their whole attitude and PR campaign to date has been a disaster and it's not surprising the festival is really struggling to sell tickets. If they continue foisting shit line-ups like that on the public then the future for EP is very bleak.

Now if someone could see to it that none of the first list clashes..that would be lovely.

Amen.

... and a clatter of Irish acts picked up on the cheap.

I sincerely hope you are not referring to us here, as I'll have you know, we are very very expensive.

I'm continually seeing email threads, messageboard threads, blog threads where new bands for EP are announced and they all go something like this

Announced

Biz
2Unlimited
Ant & Dec
Yazzoo
Doop
Scatman John
12 inches of SNow

and some moron goes....

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS 12 inches of snow...YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS, I'm so going now, suppppperrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Yep, I'm always seeing these threads...how do I unsubscribe???

these festivals are kind of losing their momentum a bit really, aren't they?

I'll go to this, but I'm only half-bothered. The list of acts really doesn't excite me all that much really. There are one or two I'd really love to see, but seeing them at EP isn't quite the same as seeing them at their own gig.

Maybe people will be more excited closer to the time.
