very very rarely buy compilations but two that spring to mind are that original style comp(very very early hip hop stuff,great fun) and the new york noise records on souljazz.must try get the book next time i've money.

I ordered a second hand copy of the Jarvis Cocker and Steve Mackey's, The Trip a while ago. The Saint Etienne had some good stuff on it.

I remember reading a review of it where the reviewer said something like "Pete Wiggs & Bob Stanley of Saint Etienne are well know for their planet sized record collections but just because you know great music doesn't mean you can make great music".....ouch
