THE GERSCH - s/t lp 11€
"This is a collection of lost recordings from the mid-to-late '90s, created by a loose cadre of individualsled by ISIS and Red Sparowes programmer/guitarist Cliff Meyer. Punctuated by rumbling doom blasts, skyscraping riffery, and cavernous vocals, The Gersch's sonic landscape prefigured its own place in the time/space continuum. From ringing guitars to thudding Mach waves, from buried melodies to lurching power drones, The Gersch will satisfy with sounds both strange and familiar. Plus, there's a totally unhinged cover of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young's state-trooper classic, "Ohio"."

ANS - the process of stocking out lp 10€
Since the last LP, ANS has moved away from the Nardcore worship to later era Flag worship. Still has longish (for a punk band) songs with leads. I guess now the leads are less surfy and more 70's rock. Does that make sense? probably not. Either way, it's still thrashy as hell, but the sound's beefed up a bit.

COLISEUM - s/t lp 9€
COLISEUM draws its primary influence from early 80's British punk rock ala DISCHARGE, GBH, & MOTORHEAD, as well as hints of 90's punk and hardcore bands like HIS HERO IS GONE, TURBONEGRO, & AVSKUM. COLISEUM'S downtuned guitars, oppressively heavy bass and blistering d-beat drumming creates the bleak landscape from which Ryan's desperate worldview is throatily belted. COLISEUM is unlike anything in Louisville's vast history of punk, hardcore and indie rock a fast, unyielding colossus of disaffected fury and steadfast punk rock devotion. LEVEL PLANE RECORDS.

SAVIOURS - crucifire lp 10€
Inspired by their common love of the dark and dirty sounds of late 70s and early 80s new wave of British heavy metal, the Saviours formed in Oakland, California, over the summer of 2004. Former Yaphet Kotto members Austin Barber (vocals, guitar), Scott Batiste (drums), and Mag Delana (guitar, also formerly of Bread and Circuits), joined together with bassist Cyrus Comiskey (Drunk Horse) and 3rd (!) guitarist Tyler Morris, intent on saving heavy music from its current state of lackluster purgatory. With the demonic vibe of classics like Bathory, Venom and even Black Sabbath in mind, Barber began to scrawl blasphemous diatribes that'd make even the most thick skinned Christian rockers shiver in their shoes. Meanwhile, guitars were down-tuned, distortion was cranked up, and a powerful, sub-harmonic, rhythm section lay down unearthly grooves.

SAVIOURS - warship '12 9€
Oakland's SAVIOURS emerge with the mighty WARSHIP EP, just months after genesis. Wielding a knee-weakening wall of noise that recalls MELVINS, BATHORY and IRON MAIDEN, SAVIOURS thoroughly execute triple-guitar bewilderment consummated by leagues of thunderous cadence. An unhealthy fixation on the occult steers this volume-obsessed unit, which features members of the esteemed yet elusive YAPHET KOTTO, toward the downward path of the infernal regions. Cover art by acclaimed artist Tim Lehi, as well a B-side etching on the vinyl ordain SAVIOURS and the WARSHIP EP for eminence in the summer of 2005.

ParasyticLPL.jpg

PARASYTIC 'Hymn' LP 9€
Debut record by this Richmond, VA band. HYMN contains 12 songs of raging metallic crustpunk, but nothing remotely generic in any way. Intelligent lyrics and extremely talented musicianship this is sure to blow some minds. Wailing guitar solos on top of ferocious riffs and the drumming is just fucking sick and punk as fuck. Hints of old school thrash combined with the love of metal and the passion of punk. Comes in a full color gatefold with some pretty damn amazing artwork, insert and a huge poster.

Four songs of pure d-beat / Scandi-crust madness from this Philly band. they have really solidified with the four new tracks here, easily being the best songs and recordings to date. The sleeve features one of the most beautiful pieces of cover art Marald has ever done for and there's even a patch included inside the record. http://www.myspace.com/dissystema

anubisrising.gif

ANUBIS RISING scales of truth LP 9€
Scales of Truth may well have been Anubis Rising's finest hour, the closest their epic-length songwriting (its three tracks average nine minutes and dozens of different passages and mood swings) came to setting them apart from dominating progressive metal superpowers like Neurosis and Isis. Alas, not close enough to stop them from breaking up in obscurity a couple years later, but for passionate supporters of cult metal, there's definitely something to look forward to here. http://www.myspace.com/anubisrising

BUMBKLAATT 'Corrosion' 7" 3,50€
Members of Bumbklaatt reside on both sides of the
border from Tijuana Mexico and San Diego California. A
very interesting sound that really compares to nothing
i know, maybe early Neurosis and Talk Is Poison. This

FRIGHTMARE - Midnight Murder Mania lp 9€
From the unlikely death metal mecca of Portland, Oregon comes the debut LP from Frightmare. Maniac Neil, a legend in the PDX death/grind scene, is the lone mastermind behind Frightmare and he’s really into the gory death/grind of the early Earache days. Think Carcass and Entombed, both before 1993. 11 tracks of horrific face shredding "stalk and slash grind" that will leave you screaming for more! Their Gore soaked holocaust is fueled by the Ultra violent Slasher movies of the 70's and 80's.

DEFIANCE, OHIO - the fear, the fear, the fear lp 9€
D’OH return with 10 ten new songs! As unexpected as a new full album was so soon after “The Great Depression”, we were equally so very happy when we heard it! This is exactly what we needed to get us through the day: direct, yet sometimes poetic and personal lyrics that touch on politics and daily life, lotsa instruments weaving in and out, great string interplay… exactly what the doc ordered. Both realistic and uplifting, all the while grounded and imaginative. This may well be their best yet.

allteskitsvart.jpg

SKITSYSTEM - Allt E Skit LP 10€
Finally available on vinyl this release compiles all the out of print early Skitsystem material. The essential early recordings from 1995-1998 are here, the Profithysteri 7", split 7" with Wolfpack and the Ondskans Askinte 10". These are the most raw and brutal Skitsystem recordings in the classic 80's Swedish hardcore tradition of Anti Cimex, Crude SS, Asocial and Avskum with just a hint of black/death metal influence. The poster insert of this release has a well written history of the band and discography.
gravarldsvartatankar.jpg

SKITSYSTEM - Gra Varld, Svarta Tanakar LP 10€
Recorded in 1999 and originally released in Sweden on Distortion, this is the first Skitsystem LP. Skitsystem took the world of hardcore and metal by storm in the late 90's by honing the swedish d-beat crust-core sound. They unleashed a punishingly brutal mix of 80's Swedish hardcore like Anti Cimex, Crudity, Crude SS and Avskum with the dark sounds of Swedish Death Metal like Entombed and At the Gates. The music and lyrics combine to form a bleak, rage fuled view of the "gray world, black thoughts." Skitsystem has the drive and power of D-beat raw punk charging forward with just enough of the melody of Swedish metal in their two guitar assault to keep things from running into a wall of noise.
enkelresatillrannstenen.jpg

SKITSYSTEM - enkel resa till ranstanen lp 10€
Everyone knows I love Swedish hardcore and no one does it better than Skitsystem from Gothenburg. This second full-length follows up on the head crushing sounds of their first LP Gra Varld Svarta Tankar. This is a scathing steamroller of pure Scandinavian hardcore power. Combine the raw thrashing power of early 80's bands like Anti-Cimex, Asocial, Crude SS and Crudity with the ferocity and anger of modern day crust core with some brutal production by Mieszko of Nasum and you begin to feel the weight of the power of Skitsystem.

11241.gif

VITAMIN X - bad trip lp 10€
Third LP from Amsterdam Holland's Vitamin X. Rampaging fast hardcore in the style of Lifes Halt, DS 13, Tear It up and No Justice. The blazing speed and power are broken here and there by charged up heavy riffs that show guitarist Marc's longstanding inspiration from 70's hard rock. While there are a lot of bands mixing 70's rock and hardcore right now Vitamin X does so in a fashion that doesnt tone down or slow down their high energy hardcore attack. The burly rock riffs merely add to the tension and power of the thrash onslaught to come.

145795.jpg

SEVERED HEAD OF STATE - power hazard '12 9€
Severed Head of State return with nine punishing new tracks. Hard driving riffs and angry vocals give this release a real fist pumping intensity. A lot of the songs are more mid tempo in the tradition of mid period Poison Idea and other hardcore punk bands that took some cues from Motorhead.

selfishcausepain.jpg

SELFISH - cause pain lp 9€
New release from Finlands finest. More traditional Japanese hardcore rocking influenced punk. Maybe even better than their last LP.

RAMBO "Bring It" LP +dvd 12€
RAMBO's "sophmore effort" is a titanic bulldozer of hardcore moshstrocity. Combining the power of epic swedish hardcore like Wolfbrigade and Disfear, the sick mosh of Hatebreed and Madball, with the politics of Crass. RAMBO take on apathy, the system, religion, intolerance and bad dance styles in nineteen tracks. Masterful production and over the top artwork. LP come with a bonus full length DVD with show highlights, tour diary, and instructional presentations.

WARCRY - deprogram lp 10€
Portland punk is in full effect as members of Tragedy, From Ashes Rise, Hellshock and His Hero Is Gone do their best to pay tribute to Discharge and Motorhead, keeping things dirty and ugly.

What's the production like on the new Selfish? Japanese style, clear and beefy?

it's quite clear with solos and so on. more rockquish, and it's actually not so new coz it's recorded in 2004.

Final full length from Aus-Rotten; who have made quite an outstanding and long-lasting impact on the American anarcho-punk scene over the past decade. On the last LP, they continue the male/female vocals style as began when Adrienne joined them for their previous LP, but this time the two vocalist due a much more intense job working in unison, with several layers of vocals going at once, just like in classic Conflict days. The music is flat out powerful punk rock, but is way more energetic and gutsy than they last LP. The lyrics are 100% political, relevant, and angry as fuck.
