Our computer won't make any sound after we switched to a legit copy of XP. Sound card seems to be fine and windows says the problem lies with Multimedia Audio Controller. Googling has got us nowhere. Anyone suggest a quick fix solution?

Is it a driver issue? Did you install the specific drivers for your soundcard? If you can't find them, you could try ASIO4ALL drivers. Have a look at your soundcard in Device Manager and see if there are any functioning drivers installed..

Goto Start>Settings>Control Panel>System>Device Manager and then browse down to "Sound, Video and Game Controllers". Expand the list by clicking the little "+" sign beside this entry. Look for a little yellow "!" as in indicator of a driver issue

Yep, everything is working properly there. Problem is Multimedia Audio Controller under Other Devices. Any idea where we might find the drivers for this? Or would it be easier just to get a new sound card?
