Lots of famous people's boobs on the internet (1 Viewer)

It seems every thread about something like this on the internet devolves into this "victim blaming".

Perhaps it's inevitable after years of actual victim blaming that people are sensitive about it. But someone suggesting you should be careful and that personal responsibility is important is not the same as a lawyer suggesting the victim had it coming because her skirt was too short.

Is the contention that no one should ultimately have any expectation of privacy using electronic communication?

These people were told that the system was safe and secure.

They locked their front door. Someone picked the lock.

With everything that's been in the news about Snowden and NSA?
With other celebrities having their photos taken an a pretty regular basis?
With the exact same hack being used to get Palin's emails a few years ago?

No don't expect much.

And if you are a world famous celebrity expect less.

So, given the existence of sexual crime, women shouldn't go out at night. Much less short-skirted ones.

This is the particular brand of idiocy I'm complaining about - exactly this.

Somehow - Be alert, don't drink yourself insensible, instead of being normal good advice, by some alchemy, is regarded as an open invitation for people to commit violent crime..
..because "victim blaming".

This is not what is being suggested at all.
What is being stated by your internet friend is that the victims are "at fault" and deserve their share of the "plenty of blame there is to go around". Victim. Blaming.
And essentially boils down to "tough titties, silly girls, if only you were as smart as me, a man with hindsight and the moral highground".

Suggesting that there are smarter behaviours for us all to practice, because women - through no fault of their own - have been made victims, is a different conversation, to my view.
