Eirecore - is it dying - stats?? (1 Viewer)

green day used to rock socks, and billy joe was actually in skrewdriver but left because ian stuart kept cutting up his sheets to use as klan costumes. the song kerplunk is actually about the sound of ian stuart plucking out his hair so he didnt have to shave it all the time.

Billy Joe wrote smash the IRA from a condo in LA then faxed it over.

haha speakin of shit racist crap disguised as punk, has anyone ever heard johnny adairs band "offensive weapon" it really really doesnt get much worse.

no, but ive been dying ta hear them, someone hear promised me a copy of their demo, ive seen it for sale on some dodgy websites.Ive read a biography on him a theres a few good photos of the band practicing ,I might post them up!

Either way, if things have gone quiet on Eirecore, at least there's always fuck loads of gigs on all the time, there's lots of deadly bands, be they punk, rock, noise, whatever... just thinking back to the old days of 1 gig a month in the old Slattery's if you were lucky, and fuck all bands etc... sends a shiver down my spine. Things got so bad that I had to move to Leeds for some reason:confused:

Bit hasty?

skrewdriver started out as a punk band, but at that time so did a lot of bands - it was just a trend. now nazism and punk don't even in the same sentence, apart from this one - ha, ha. someone actually offered me some of their earlier stuff a few years ago, for nothing, off course i could have too them and sold them - but i didn't want their filth anywhere near me.

Early skrewdriver is really really ordinary. I never got why lots of people like that stuff, theres nothing at all that makes it stand out. They are as shit as metallica! THEY'RE EARLY STUFF IS AS SHIT AS EVERY OTHER THING THEY RECORDED! BAD MUSIC MADE BY MORONS!

wikpedia has a page on them

Some members of the original Skrewdriver were not impressed by the new direction in which Donaldson took the band, as this interview with Roger Armstrong of Chiswick Records illustrates:
It is a shame that the name was dragged through the gutter like that. The other three guys in the band were really pissed off too. Grinny the drummer came from solid northern socialist stock. When they made records for us Ian Stuart showed no signs of fascism. The skinhead image was a — maybe in hindsight misconceived — fashion thing. It was cooked up by a bunch of us, including the band's then management and the photographer Peter Kodik. The teeth on the back of the sleeve are Patti Paladin's of Snatch fame — NY art punk ![6] However, Grinny, the drummer of the band later stated in an interview that he had no problem with the new Skrewdriver, and that he became a member of the National Front along with Ian Stuart
