A friend of mine in crumlin found a snake under the bed not long ago. The dspca said it had probably escaped from a neighbor.

I saw a little fly struggling in a web today (in the window at work) and the spider was half approaching it but very cautiously because there was some even smaller creature attached to the fly's back and it appeared to stab itself (not sure if it was front or backwards) into the fly's body. I was aghast.

Singer Katie Melua has revealed she has had a live spider removed from her ear by a doctor.

Posting a video of the creature on her Instagram account, Melua wrote: "So I had a rustling in my ear for a week and went to the doctor. This little fella is what they found!"

Melua believes the spider climbed into earbud headphones she had used on a recent flight.
