Big Sound supplied by Worries Outernational

On Friday April 18th, in Traffic, 54 Middle Abbey St. Only ten euros in!!!!

It's time for the next chapter of WOBBLE, Dublin's finest exponents of
the sweet, sweet sounds of Dubstep. Thanks to all the soldiers who
came down for the last all-irish shindig - The Red Monk showed what he
was made of and mashed up the place something rotten. Memorable
stuff!!

This month we're reaching back over the water to hand-pick some of the
finest, freshest Dubstep talent around - the HEADHUNTER. First
appearing on our radar with the massive Sleepwalkers on Tempa Allstars
Vol 3, Tony Headhunter has forged a unique sound for himself, with one
foot in the deep, techno-influenced Bristol massive, and the other
firmly in London's tumult of wobbling bangers.

Check his tunes here, including cuts from the huge Initiate EP on Tempa:

and a big mix from November here:

In support is one of Wicklow's finest: GRIZZLE. Grizzle lashes out
some of the finest home-grown dubstep there is, including the
highlight of the recent !kaboogie recrods sampler - a technician in
the studio, you can check his tunes pon the myspace, and his wicked
blog on all sorts of audio weirdness:

More support on the night from one or three of Richie !kaboogie, T Woc
and Don Rosco. Should make for an interesting night!!

i think there might be some in City Discs. It was very limited though. Each one is unique and part of an overall canvas of painted-over slip cases. really awesome compilation

Speaking of dubstep, Hank Shocklee is playing a dubstep set in Ri Ra on saturday night. How weird is that? Hank fuckin Shocklee!!

Well, the interview he gave earlier in the day was fantastic. He was talking about how he got into Hip Hop, how he started Public Enemy, and the battles he had to get the sound right - the engineer he was working with wanted to smooth everything out, and the musician he was working with wanted stuff to be in key. He said he didn't want it to sound harmonious, because life wasn't harmonious. That really set him off! Mostly about how little protest music there is these days, and how people give up creative control too easily. It was inspiring stuff.

He is a much better talker than a dubstep dj though, it has to be said.

Anyway! Headhunter tomorrow night!! w00t!
