Can anybody explain to me how it is that Will Oldham and David Pajo are playing in Cork and Dublin (Vicar Street), on Sunday 21st? Are they going to get a jumbo jet in an Elton John/Live Aid stylee? Are they magic? Or have I got these dates all wrong?

checkout Dave's "extensive" touring schedule at:
http://www.papa-m.com/tour.htm

Looks like Cork is on Monday night - the 22nd.

I'm 100% positive the email from Triskel said Sunday 21st......Almost. There were no details of gigs anywhere other than Cork sent in, so i dunno....

I'll double check it when i get home.

....mmmm....all the other listings sites have it down for the 21st in Cork aswell - www.ei4u.com etc etc and no mention of the will, dave and paul oreilly gig in Dublin - something is amiss....

ah yes but all the other listings sites get their information from here.

possibly.

either that or someone in Triskel has cocked things up and sent the same press release with the wrong date on to everyone....

Personally, I prefer the former.

I believe it was Mr. Phil Collins who made the journey from Philadelphia to London in order that he might save the world with two sets at Live Aid.

Thanks 'tron, I do believe you're right. It was Phil "get the hell outta here, you muck-pigeon" Collins alright. Young people of Ireland: take note.

It was Phil Collins.

wasn't it london to philly and not the other way around...
could be wrong though, big phil info isn't my biggest hobbey.

the shelter gig is on the 20th, the vicar street is on the 21st and the cork gig is on the monday. well thats what i'm told anyway

this just in from Triskel Arts Centre:

Hi
Sorry to have misinformed you of the date of Continental OP featuring Will Oldham and David Pajo, at the Triskel Arts CEntre in Cork, the correct date is Monday 22 January and not Monday 21 January.
Sorry for this inconvienience.

So - mystery solved.

They would have gotten away with it too if it hadn't been for you crazy kids...
