Tut-tut. Sometimes less is more & especially when it comes to the sparse set-up Bill Callaghan favours.
I guess you've never seen his skillz when playing with Dirty Three-he's like an Eighties snooker player possessed by Elvin Jones.

"This band reminds me of anything that was ever fascinating about Post-Punk, No Wave, etc... hints of bands like BUSH TETRAS, PYLON, early SONIC YOUTH and many more come to mind - but the best thing is that CAP PAS CAP turn all this into a sound of their own! Not only the best thing out of Ireland since many many years, but maybe as well one of the best records of this and last year!" X MIST - GERMANY

"Yellow Swans play a constantly evolving mass of psychedelic noise that is
both physically arresting and psychically liberating. Their music is powerful rendering of free rock, black electronics, and white light vibrations.

Consisting of Pete Swanson (vocals, drum machine, and electronics) and Gabriel Mindel Saloman (guitars, feedback, electronics), Yellow Swans create a dense ocean of sound using various analog and digital machines, all locked in a spiraling web of feedback.

Yellow Swans, having spent two years in Oakland, CA, are based once again in Portland, OR, where they originally formed in the Fall of 2001.
They are currently working on their third studio album, to be released in 2007 on LOAD Records."

INDIAN JEWELRY
(USA, MONITOR RECORDS)
& GUESTS

INDIAN JEWELRY, a band from Houston, TX, were formerly known as SWARM of ANGELS, NTX + ELECTRIC, TURQUOISE DIAMONDS, CORPSES of WACO, PERPETUAL WAR PARTY BAND.

At the core INDIAN JEWELRY is a threesome (TEX KERSCHEN, ERIKA THRASHER, RODNEY RODRIGUEZ), but on tour they are known to shape-shift and add new band members in various cities to alter the sound and context of the band. "INVASIVE EXOTICS" is a caption of both the founding fathers and the adjoining companions, the structure and the free form, the tidy and the messy.

Renegades to traditional song structure, INDIAN JEWELRY mix drum machine, noise, percussion, loops, dance beats, guitar, keyboards, scraps of metal, and other sounds into an unpredictable mash of aural delights, drones, and melody. Already amassing a swarm of devotees, INDIAN JEWELRY is expanding our concept of song, and the way it is constructed and heard.

INDIAN JEWELRY is the secret that no one gives away.

RIYL: music based in cowboy motorik, hyperliterary chants and magical realism, concrete sound, endless drones, pre-cognitive dissonance, mesmerism, and atavistic junk. .

Yup, great show indeed. Best time I've ever seen White Magic play. The rhythm section made the night for me.
Adrian Crowley was pretty good too.

shit crowd though... fuckin' noisiest gig i've been to in a long time...

...enjoyed adrian crowley... thought goodtime john was average - where's his interesting songs gone?... kinda enjoyed white magic but her voice just doesn't do it for me... rhythm section ace though

Yeah those fuckers up the front yappin' away and jostling with their drinks everywhere, then revering White Magic as if they were sultans.

Who was the drummer? Didn't look like Tim DeWitt, sounded like him though. Tim Barnes?

Jessie Lee who plays with Rusty Santos

http://www.myspace.com/rustysantos

Rusty Santos is a Musician, Producer, Audio Engineer, Writer, and a partner at the underground record label UUAR. He lives and works in New York, NY and currently performs along side his friend and long time bandmate Jesse Lee. Their main concern is making pop music that doesn't sound like other music but that is always intense and deeply expressive. Although their musical energy is best transmitted live, Rusty Santos is very into the process of recording as an artwork in itself. As a Producer and Engineer he has worked with several artists including Animal Collective, Ariel Pink, Panda Bear, White Magic, Vashti Bunyan, First Nation, and Holy Shit, to name some. He has also scored fashion shows and remixed tracks. Most recently Rusty has formed a new band, more information will be posted about this important project in the near future.

Ah it's a Friday night gig...so whataya gonna do?!
Most people are just happy to have a few drinks and talk to their mates etc than stand around in silence while a few indie-bands do their thing.
