Whelan's 20th Anniversary Concerts present

EMMETT TINLEY & BAND

Performing THE PRAYER BOAT'S POLICHINELLE

Whelan’s, Thursday, October 14th

Without question, this gorgeous set of intimate, meticulously crafted pop tunes was among the best albums to come across our desk this year. - Billboard Magazine

The perfect record for heartbroken insomniacs .... Polichinelle is sweetly melancholic and rather sublime.- 4/5 Q Magazine
'This is fine music which surfs along on cool rolling chords. Quite stunning - NME

The Prayer Boat are a very special act and Polichinelle could be their masterpiece. Cherish them. – Hot Press

The Prayer Boat's Polichinelle is being remastered and repackaged for 10th Anniversary. Emmett Tinley and band will perform the album in it's entirety in Whelans on 14th October as part of the venues 20th Birthday celebrations. A copy of the anniversary album is included in the ticket price. Ticket on sale now from ticketmaster.
Having been remixed and re-ordered for various record companies in its lifetime, the Prayer Boat's Polichinelle became a classic music industry cliché. An album that found favour and love amongst many in the music business, media and record companies but only ever found it's way into a few record collections. It's not that nobody tried. After a local release, the album found a home in the UK on an enthusiastic Setanta Records who found many supporters in the music papers of the day and indeed enjoyed some success with the record in Holland. Setanta's endeavors were taken up then by Atlantic Records in the U.S. as they found the album in a local record shop. The album came out in the US in 2001 and was well received but it's momentum was lost after 9/11 as Atlantic, like most, were in disarray and a tour at that time was pulled. Emmett Tinley subsequently released a solo album Attic Faith that was nominated for the Choice Music Prize and was album of the week in the Sunday Times and again sold best in Holland. He now lives in Denmark.
