What's the story with all those tricolour stickers on road signs? (1 Viewer)

They're all over the country on road signs and on lamp posts. What's the deal? Some are small, about stamp sized and others are about A5. Is it one lunatic doing them all? Anyone else noticed it?

Is it something to do with road signs that don't have irish on them?

Iv noticed it but thought it was just another local IRA thing or something... All over the county is pretty impressive whatever it is

I read a few boards threads about it but none of them stumped up the reason why its done. Maybe some joker started it and others are copying him. You also see Scottish saltires for some reason.

I saw one of the Scottish ones this morning on an out of the way back road

Is it somethihg as simple as a factory somewhere makes the signs, they put a sticker on them to designate the country they are shipping to?
