Andor S2.

Some parts amazing, others dull. Weird Disney is doing a normie Battle of Algiers. It's also, like so many other shows, about how being a public servant is the worst death.

Finished Andor season 2. 7 episodes of fucking around followed by 4 deadly episodes and another shit one. It's amazing they went from such a focused season 1 to this mess.

I liked it in totality, partly because the point of it is that it is a mess. This is a galaxy spanning rebellion with a rake of ill-matched characters bumping up against each other. A few of the latter episodes were as good as TV gets imho, fraught, poignant, exciting. I wonder what sort of budget the show has because the array of worlds depicted is in and of itself impressive, though I see they deliberately tone down on the non-humans, I assume for the sake of budget. It's such a pity the last three main Star Wars films were shite because Andor in particular and some of the other recent TV series have shown there's life in the old girl yet.

Watched Andor S02E06. First episode I have really enjoyed. Possibly not a coincidence it was the first Faye Marsay heavy episode.

'Back' on Netflix. Its a Mitchell and Webb comedy thing. Standard fare for them. ie: very decent.

I watched the first two episodes, drifted onto something else and then came back. It really finds its pace half way through the first series, and the second is ace. 4.5/5

While waiting so I can binge watch Mobland I watched Gangs of London. Ridiculous over the top cartoon violence and mental plot lines. But good fun. Season 2 was even sillier than S1, so might skip s3. There's only so much silliness I can take.

Watched The Diplomat over the last few days. I thought it was a serious political thriller/drama kinda thing but, well... it really isn't. I mean it kind of tries to be? But then it goes all marital and stuff, and... I don't think I'm the target demo for this at all. I still stuck with it and will probably watch more of it when it comes out. Maybe.
